Atorvastatin 10 mg

This medicine is used for lowering bad cholesterol and improving good cholesterol in the blood stream. It is from the statins group of drugs and reduces the harmful cholesterol made by liver. By this act it will also decrease the risk of heart disease and heart strokes. Additionally proper diet and exercise may help this medicine work well.

Read the complete detail of product leaflet from your doctor or chemist before start taking this medicine. Take this medicine as per direction given by doctor; usually taken by mouth once a daily. Take it with or without food as suggested by doctor. Dosage of this medicine is decided by doctor based on medical history, condition and response to treatment. Avoid drinking juice of grapefruit or eating grapefruit without suggestion of your doctor. If you are taking any medicine for lowering cholesterol then take this medicine at least 1 to 2 hours before or 4 to 5 hours after taking that medicine. Try to take at same time every day or evenly spaced times for best result. Complete prescription period, even if you find symptoms are disappear.

Side effect–

Following side effect may occur with the use of given medications

Confusion, muscle problem, weakness, stomach pain, nausea, headache, rash, tiredness, swelling, or dizziness may occur. It can also cause diabetes. Inform your doctor immediately, if you feel any of the given side effects worsen. Your doctor has prescribed this medicine because he judged that benefits of this medicine are more than the risk of side effects. Many patients are not feeling any side effects while using this medication. Tell your doctor right away if you observe any new sign of side effects such as weakness, kidney problem, dizziness or breathing trouble.

Precautions–

Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any allergies of any medicine or if you have allergies to any inactive ingredients. Inform your doctor about your medical history, treatment and allergies. Drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration. Limit or avoid alcoholic drink because it is harmful for your treatment. Children and older people are more sensitive to this medicine. Before having surgery inform your doctor about all the medicine, you are taking. This medicine can also affect your blood sugar level so if you are diabetic then regularly check your blood sugar. This medicine is harmful for unborn baby so prevent pregnancy during treatment and consult the doctor before breast feeding.
